STealth Reamer (STR)™

A Stabilizer with Teeth

SOS developed the STealth Reamer™ to clean the wellbore while drilling. The STR eliminates the need for a dedicated reaming trip.

The STR is a dual action tool:

• Stabilizer
• Reamer

It is a 4 bladed reaming tool with various PDC cutting and stabilizing elements that function to
eliminate doglegs, cutting beds and ledges. The goal of the tool is to be a preventative problem
solver and allows the operator to run pipe into the ground instead of picking up more BHA’s.

The STealth Reamer™ was designed to not interfere with directional work. The thin blades and recessed diamonds will only engage the wellbore when needed. The STR is configured in the BHA to be ⅛” to ¼” under the bit size and placed far enough behind the motor therefore not affecting sliding.
